Webinar on Providing Negative
Performance Feedback

90-minute webinar about how to prepare for providing negative
performance feedback. Presenter Richard Baron, founder of
Responsive Management Systems and a member of ECSG, will explain

New Continuing Education Courses
The latest issue of
Families in Society offers online continuing education
courses that cover social worker familiarity with psychiatric
advance directives, reunification of children with mothers
recovering from drug abuse, the realities faced by Latino
immigrants, and parental acceptance of gay and lesbian children.
CE4Alliance, the online education program provided by
Families in Society and the Alliance, features more than 130

online discussion group called the Technology Affinity Group.

White House Conference Series
The White House is planning a new series of
regional conference as part of President George W. Bush’s
Faith-Based and Community Initiatives. The events are designed
to connect social service organizations with resources to
strengthen and expand services. Locations include New Orleans,
Washington, D.C., Sacramento, Calif., and Dallas. Read more

May is Older Americans Month
The month of May is
Older Americans Month, a time to bring attention to the
issues that affect older adults. But aging America is more than
an "older adults" matter, it's also a nationwide issue. The
Alliance’s New Age of Aging
project is working diligently to address the professional
development needs of America’s social and human services
workforce to help meet the challenges that will accompany an

Civic Engagement Grant Opportunity
The Alliance is offering its members three
civic engagement grant opportunities. In total, the Alliance
will grant nearly $200,000 to strengthen members’ efforts to
support the civic engagement of their community members. The
deadline for submitting applications is May 30, 2008. Download
