  • Experience: MBA and PhD in Social Work Administration. I have had the opportunity to lead change in almost all areas of organizational life. For example: ending corporal punishment at one organization to reducing restraints by 50% at another, leading an initial accreditation process to building a complete organizational infrastructure (including training, HR, IT, marketing, compliance, development, communications, etc.) and changing direction and focus of international programs in Europe and South America.

  • Experience: Beginning in the fall of 1997, implemented a major shift in service delivery, from office-based to community-centered programming, with a primary focus on strengthening the capacity of family members to support one another and make constructive contributions to their communities. Also encouraged and developed partnerships with hospitals, city and county government, public schools, and not-for-profit organizations to implement collaborative program initiatives in host settings. During my 9 year tenure, the annual operating budget has grown from $2,500,000 to $4,000,000, and annual fundraising has increased from $37,000 to $1,200,000.

Completely re-energized an agency, changing its culture to a strength based organization, diversified successfully from residential to a more level organization that now includes equal amounts of community-based services, and reorganized a statewide management team and agency statewide board of directors.
