Alliance Intellectual Capital Division
The Alliance for Children and Families Intellectual Capital Division is responsible for generating new initiatives, ideas, and solutions to move the nonprofit human service field forward. Its work is executed through grant-funded initiatives, webinars, workshops, executive training courses, and other unique opportunities.
The division embraces new ideas as funding is available. Currently within the division's purview are:
Civic Engagement Program
The civic engagement program encourages Alliance members to work for social change that improves the lives of vulnerable children and families.
Evaluation and Research Services
The Alliance is a leader in generating, reviewing, and disseminating knowledge and data that helps its members and the nonprofit human services sector:
- Perform at consistently high levels
- Make well-informed decisions
- Produce better results
Executive Consultant Select Group (ECSG)
The ECSG program helps members find fully-vetted consultants when they require supplemental talents and resources. It also develops educational webinars and workshops that are available to members and nonmembers.
Executive Leadership Institute (ELI)
The ELI training program is for emerging senior leaders in the nonprofit human services industry. It is co-sponsored by the University of Michigan’s School of Social Work and Ross School of Business.
Families in Society
Families in Society is the Alliance's social work publication. It produces a quarterly journal, maintains the Families in Society Online website, and develops ancillary products. Its content features social work research and theory, direct practice issues, and issues pertaining to the delivery and management of services.
New Age of Aging Initiative
The initiative aims to provide a comprehensive response within the human service industry to the dramatic demographic change associated with the 70 million American adults who will reach age 65 by 2029.
Strategy Counts! Initiative
The initiative is designed to encourage Alliance members to elevate the role of strategy in their work. It is based on the belief that a greater focus on strategy increases the probability of creating stronger, more sustainable organizations. In turn, higher performing organizations are capable of sustaining more effective services and greater community impact.
