Alliance Civic Engagement Training Institute
The Alliance for Children and Families annually offers at least one Civic Engagement Training Institute for human service professionals responsible for strategic planning, civic engagement, advocacy, public policy, and community leadership.
Attendees learn to better infuse civic engagement practices into their organization’s daily operations in order to stimulate community activism and to lift up the authentic voices of disenfranchised constituencies.
More specifically, the institute:
- Provides training and learning opportunities in civic engagement
- Identifies specific skills required to increase staff and volunteer involvement and achieve success
- Explores pathways to develop organizational capacity to carry out civic engagement activities
- Addresses strategies to close racial gaps
