Since 2005 the University of Michigan School of Social Work and Ross
School of Business have cosponsored an Executive Leadership
Institute with the Alliance for Children and Families of Milwaukee,
Wisconsin, a national membership organization for family and
children’s agencies throughout the United States. This two-week
certificate program is geared toward senior leaders of nonprofit
human service organizations who are aspiring for excellence. A part
of the mission of the School of Social Work is collaborating with
partners like the Alliance in advancing the best practices in
leadership. Conducted on-campus at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, the
institute is cosponsored by the university’s School of Social Work,
which for several years has been ranked among the top 10 social work
programs in the United States, according to the U.S. News & World
Report’s America’s Best Graduate Schools. |

The School of Social Work and Ross School of Business provide
faculty to give presentations, as well as a committee of faculty and
staff to advise on the curriculum, which focuses on executive and
leadership skills.
Participants of ELI benefit by interacting with the executives,
gaining a leadership view, and having the opportunity for placements
and jobs. |
