Betsy Vander Velde
Betsy Vander Velde is president and CEO of Alliance for Children and Families member The Family Conservancy in Kansas City, Kan., a position she has held since 1994.
She serves on the Alliance Board of Directors and was elected vice chair in 2009. She is a past co-chair of the board’s public policy committee and is a charter member of the Resource Development Services Advisory Committee.
In Kansas City, she serves on the Children’s Campus of Kansas City Board of Directors, Regional Disaster Mental Health Committee for Homeland Security, SkillBuilders Fund Board of Directors, and the United Way of Greater Kansas City Resource Development Committee.
Vander Velde has spoken regionally and nationally about nonprofit mergers and organizational and cultural change, best practice community building, board governance, board development, board engagement in philanthropy and fund development, and leadership.
