2010 New Age of Aging Mentors and Mentees
As part of the New Age of Aging initiative’s mentoring program, a total of $280,000 was awarded to 20 members of the Alliance for Children and Families in 2010.
Of the 20 agencies, 10 have been identified as mentors. Each mentor organization will help its partner, mentee agency strengthen its capacity to improve the lives of older adults in its service communities. To support a yearlong collaborative relationship, each mentor organization received an $18,500 award and each mentee organization received $9,500.
With the mentor named first, grant recipients are:
- LifeSpan in Hamilton, Ohio, with Family and Youth Counseling Agency in Lake Charles, La.
- Oakland Family Services in Pontiac, Mich., with mentor Family Service Madison in Wisconsin
- Child and Family Service in Ewa Beach, Hawaii, with Family Service Association of San Antonio
- Alpert Jewish Family & Children’s Services in West Palm Beach, Fla., with Secret Harbor in Burlington, Wash.
- Family Service Association of Western Riverside County in Moreno Valley, Calif., with Heartland Family Service in Omaha, Neb.
- Jewish Family Services in Milwaukee with Family Services Center in Huntsville, Ala.
- Jewish Family & Children's Service of Sarasota-Manatee in Sarasota, Fla., with Jewish Family & Career Services in Atlanta
- Family Services of Westchester in Port Chester, N.Y., with Spectrum Human Services in Westland, Mich.
- Family Service Association in Dayton, Ohio, with Jewish Family Service in Teaneck, N.J.
- Impact Northwest in Portland, Ore., with Family & Children’s Service in Nashville, Tenn.
