Omaha Nonprofit, Together, Joins the Alliance Network
Together in Omaha, Nebraska, has joined the Alliance for Strong Families and Communities. Together formed in response to a tornado disaster that struck the metropolitan area of Omaha in 1975 and left hundreds of families homeless, hungry, and in great need.
The founders soon realized that thousands of families in Omaha need relief every day and extended the services of Together to the community year-round. Their mission is to provide emergency resources to working families in extreme poverty to rebuild housing stability. By working with strategic, community partners, Together provides support services through case management to move individuals and families from dependency to sustainability and then on to self-sufficiency.
Operating with twelve full-time staff, two part-time staff, and dozens of volunteers, Together serves nearly 22,000 individuals and families annually.
Mike Hornacek leads Together as executive director.
