DocuShare Database

DocuShare is a searchable, web-based library of more than 19,000 policies, procedures, manuals, forms, and other documents of interest to nonprofit human service organizations. It is maintained by the Alliance for Children and Families' Severson National Information Center.

Only members of the Alliance may access DocuShare.

Members of the United Neighborhood Centers of America, an Alliance sister organization, may purchase access to the DocuShare database for $180 annually.

What’s in DocuShare?

New material is added to DocuShare daily, including many documents from Alliance members. These documents include:

  • Client rights policies
  • Customer satisfaction forms
  • Development plans
  • HIPAA-compliant policies
  • Intake forms
  • Job descriptions
  • Investment policies
  • Personnel policies
  • Performance review forms
  • Quality improvement policies

The majority of DocuShare materials can be viewed, downloaded, and printed in a PDF or text format. Select copyright-protected articles are not fully accessible online but can be obtained by asking a Severson Center librarian.

How Can DocuShare Help Alliance Members?

DocuShare helps Alliance members save time and money by allowing them to review documents submitted by their peer member organizations. Doing so provides:

  • A benchmark for creating or revising policies and procedures
  • A starting point for the accreditation process
  • Ideas for updating policy and procedure manuals

DocuShare is particularly valuable to organizations in need of accreditation assistance, especially those pursuing accreditation or reaccreditation through the Council on Accreditation (COA).

The database includes thousands of the latest policies and procedures from Alliance members’ COA self-studies, and it is searchable both by subject and COA standard number.
