Carey Drees is the manager of member relations for the Alliance for Children and Families. She helps to ensure members are engaged with Alliance programs and services, as well as equipped to maximize the resources available to them. She also oversees membership development activities.
Drees is passionate about building relationships within Alliance’s network and delivering high-quality member services to each staff person at Alliance member organizations.
Before joining the Alliance, Drees worked as a community education and advocacy specialist for a mental health and substance abuse counseling organization in Wisconsin. There, she was a certified prevention worker and executed a variety of programs to address issues of substance abuse.
Drees earned a bachelor’s in education studies from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, with an emphasis on adult and community education and nonprofit management. She completed a Certificate in Aging in 2010 from Boston University’s Institute for Geriatric Social Work and also is pursuing a Certificate in Nonprofit Management through the Alliance’s Executive Leadership program, which is co-sponsored by the University of Michigan’s School of Social Work and Ross School of Business.
She lives with her husband, Scott, in Wauwatosa, Wis. Both are Milwaukee natives and enjoy hiking, traveling across the United States and abroad, and tasting local and traditional foods.
