Crystal Thompson is editorial and production associate for the Alliance for Children and Families’ social work journal, Families in Society: The Journal of Contemporary Social Services. She began working with Families in Society in January 2010. Previously she was communications administrator in the Alliance Marketing and Communications Department.
As the editorial and production associate, Thompson manages the manuscript and book review processes, edits and proofreads all journal-related copy, and manages the journal’s social media networks.
Prior to joining the Alliance, Crystal was a tutor for the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh campus writing center, a copy editor for the university’s student newspaper, and a communications intern with the American Cancer Society at its location in Pewaukee, Wisc.
Thompson graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh in 2007 with a bachelor’s in English. She earned a Certificate in Aging from the Boston University Institute for Geriatric Social Work in 2010.
She enjoys freelance writing and editing; participating in 5K community runs; and several outdoor activities, such as golfing, camping, and kayaking.
