Health Care Reform: A New Challenge
Here is my latest video blog post on health care/entitlement reform and the impact it will have on America’s nonprofit human services sector. As I share on this video, we are not going to bend the curve of health care until we figure out what it is going to take to meet the bio/psycho/social needs of our most vulnerable population.

Health Care Partnerships: The Time is Now
I must apologize for taking a short break from writing blog posts.
Joyce Dreyfus, my mother-in-law, whom I was very close to and loved deeply since I was 18 years old, died unexpectedly a few weeks ago. While we will miss her, we are grateful for her peaceful passing. We also find comfort in knowing she is reunited with her husband of 60 years.
Her death has been a time of grief, memories, and all of the work that goes along with the loss of a parent. My husband and I were especially close to her these past few years as we, like so many of our friends, were highly involved with the care of both Joyce and my late father-in-law, Lee. … more
Alliance Executive Leadership Conference is a Can't-Miss Event
In her latest video blog, Susan Dreyfus encourages Alliance members to take part in the Alliance Executive Leadership Conference, May 16-19, in San Antonio.
The event is designed by and for nonprofit executive leaders to be a retreat that offers specific professional development and networking opportunities.
This year the Alliance’s report Disruptive Forces: Driving A Human Services Revolution report is the guide for the programming. Secretaries of state health and social service agencies have been invited to take part in a dialogue led by Tracey Wareing, executive director of the American Public Human Services Association. … more

Susan Dreyfus is president and CEO of the Alliance and its parent holding company, Families International. In her capacity as president and CEO of Families International, she is CEO of United Neighborhood Centers of America and Ways to Work. Immediately preceding this role, she was secretary of the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services. She also previously was executive vice president for strategy at Rogers Behavioral Health Systems in Oconomowoc, Wis., as well as senior vice president and COO of the Alliance and Families International.
