Kelly Harder is the director of the Community Services Division in Dakota County, which is the third most populated county in Minnesota. Within this division, he has oversight of social services, public health, community corrections, income maintenance, child support, veteran services, and 4-H/extension programs. Harder has been working passionately to move the organization and community of human-serving providers into a fully integrated service delivery model of care under a Social Determinant of Health and Well-Being framework.

Harder is currently serving as the on the American Public Human Services Association (APHSA) Executive Board as well as the chair for the APHSA National Council of Local Human Service Administrators. He passionately believes that we, as a collective body of caring leaders, can and will bend the curve on generational poverty in our country.

John MacIntosh leads SeaChange Capital Partners with overall responsibility for grant-making, credit and investment, advisory services, and market-making. He also explores new roles SeaChange might play to help nonprofits have more impact while giving donors leveraged funding opportunities.

Prior to joining SeaChange, MacIntosh was a partner at Warburg Pincus in that global private equity firm’s New York, Tokyo, and London offices. At Warburg Pincus, he was responsible for overseeing the firm’s expansion into several new international markets and industry segments, designed the firm’s investment performance and measurement system, was co-head of professional development, and served as a director of 16 companies. Earlier in his career MacIntosh worked as a software engineer in Tokyo and a management consultant at Oliver Wyman.

In conjunction with the Centre for Economic Performance at the London School of Economics and the Positive Psychology Center at the University of Pennsylvania, MacIntosh coordinated a three-year program in resilience-building and depression prevention for more than 3,000 children across 25 middle schools in the United Kingdom.

McIntosh has a bachelor's in science in engineering from Princeton University and a master's in philosophy and public policy from the London School of Economics. He serves on the board of the New York Junior Tennis & Learning, the Credit Committee of the Contact Fund, and Healing Arts Inc., and is an equity investment advisor to MicroVest Capital Management. MacIntosh lives in Brooklyn with his wife and four daughters.

Nonprofit Finance Fund

Jina Paik is the director of knowledge management in advisory services for the Nonprofit Finance Fund (NFF). In this role, she has shaped NFF’s core messages and practices that relate to sector-wide issues, such as the need for flexible funding to support business model adaptation and full cost funding.

As a senior consultant, Paik has managed large-scale “change capital” initiatives for NFF, including the NYC Community Resilience Fund, the NYC Change Capital Fund, and New York Community Trust Small Arts Groups initiative. She has trained philanthropies, nonprofits, and boards on what it takes to build nonprofit financial stability and plan around financial uncertainty and risk. She is a frequent partner with advocacy and capacity-building groups to promote nonprofit best practices and supporting funding reform that helps the nonprofit sector build strength. She has also worked one-on-one with nonprofit leaders across the U.S. to build stronger organizations through improved business planning, financial strategy and management practices. She has contributed to publications such The Nonprofit Quarterly, New York Nonprofit Press, and NFF’s Social Currency.

Prior to joining NFF, she worked with the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, Helene Fuld Health Trust, and the TCC Group. She is board treasurer for DanceNYC, a nonprofit service organization that promotes the knowledge, appreciation, practice, and performance of dance in the metropolitan New York City area and has served for three years as a selection committee member for the New York Community Trust Nonprofit Excellence Awards. She was also recently honored by the New York City Human Services Council as a Next Generation Leader.

Paik holds a master’s from the Milano School of International Affairs, Management, and Urban Policy at The New School and and a bachelor’s in fine arts from Carnegie Mellon University.

Nirav Shah is a vice president on the social Investment team in Social Finance’s Austin office. He works with nonprofits, governments, and private sector funders to develop and execute public-private partnerships to measurably improve the lives of people by scaling evidence-based social service programs. Shah is working on projects to improve maternal and child health outcomes, expand access to permanent supportive housing for the homeless, and improve outcomes related to recidivism and workforce development for individuals with recent criminal convictions. He has experience in the public and private sector.

Prior to joining Social Finance, Shah worked in the Office of Management and Budget within the Executive Office of the President. He spent the early part of his career working for Cambridge Associates, an investment advisor, and Bank of America. Nirav holds a master’s in public affairs from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs and a bachelor’s in business administration with a concentration in finance from Boston University.
