The National Governors Association Center for Best Practices (NGA Center) is looking to hire a Senior Policy Analyst to work in its Economic Opportunity Division. The preferred candidate will have experience and content knowledge related to policies and programs that fall within the portfolio of the Economic Opportunity Division with specific expertise related to human services. Human services knowledge and expertise could include the broad spectrum of policies and programs to help low-income families achieve economic stability and promote well-being (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and other cash assistance programs, energy assistance, social security, supplemental security income, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, “food stamps”). A master’s degree in public policy, public administration, political science, social work, psychology, human development or other relevant disciplines is preferred, along with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of demonstrated experience related to human services policy. Prior experience working in state government is a plus but not necessary. Experience managing complex projects and budgets is a huge plus.
