The Development Assistant is responsible for providing administrative assistance to support the NVFS Development & Communications department. This includes entering cash, in-kind and other gifts into the database; merging, printing and mailing acknowledgment letters on an ongoing basis; coordinating and assisting with regular mass mailings; assistance with events and in-kind drives; and other administrative duties as assigned. This role will primarily be working remotely while providing some essential services which may require occasional in-person and/or in-office work

Timely and accurate entry of cash and in-kind gifts into the Raiser’s Edge database within 1-3 days of receipt
Adhere to a regular schedule of visiting office to process checks.
Update donor address, constituency code and other related information in Raiser’s Edge as necessary
Ensure accuracy of data entry in coordination with department staff.
Coordinate accurate and timely donor acknowledgement and stewardship measures
Segment, merge, review, print and mail acknowledgment letters on an ongoing basis.
Separate and distribute letters depending on amount, gift allocation and signatory.
Coordinate personal notes and signatures on letters of a certain amount.
Ensure that letters are mailed out or distributed to signatory within 1 week of the gift being received.
Provide annual consolidated receipts to donors.
Mail welcome packages to new donors within two weeks of receipt of donation.
Coordinate and assist with regular mailings to donors
Track and maintain inventory; replenish supplies including but not limited to letterhead, envelopes, stamps and other supplies prior to any mailings.
Coordinate necessary staff or volunteers to assist with mailing projects.
Segment letters and coordinate personal notes when necessary.
Provide other department support and perform other administrative duties as assigned
Assist with events and drives preparation as needed.
Participate in regular supervision with supervisor and provide regular updates.
Maintain files in accordance with department requirements and NVFS guidelines.
Maintain current level of knowledge of Agency programs and events.
Qualification and Additional Requirements: An individual may obtain skills through a variety of professional, personal, educational, and volunteer experiences. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required to perform essential job duties.
Prefer at least one (1) year of related work experience in data entry and administrative support; a Bachelor’s degree; Or a combination of education and relevant experience.
Experience working with database systems preferred; experience with Raiser’s Edge a plus.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Oral and written fluency in English required. Additional language skills always welcome.
Proficiency in usage of basic technological tools including laptops/computers, email, phones, and internet required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required.

Successful completion of background checks upon hire.
May be called upon work beyond normal working hours.
