Aramark, the Alliance for Strong Families and Communities’ longtime partner and global leader in food, facilities, and uniforms, is continuing to donate $1 to local community centers when individuals join its Feed Your Potential 365 health campaign* online or follow it on Instagram @Aramark. Join to receive inspiring ideas and recipes from expert chefs and dietitians, while also supporting fellow Alliance members in building capacity for community health and well-being initiatives.
Aramark’s Feed Your Potential 365 campaign, which launched last year, is designed to help people discover the foods that can help them succeed and keep them healthy. The campaign is part of the company’s five-year initiative with the American Heart Association to improve the health of Americans 20 percent by 2020.
Aramark’s donation will support nutrition and cooking educational experiences that help children and families in underserved communities lead healthier lives. Aramark also provides community centers with nutrition education materials as part of a curriculum designed by the American Heart Association, in collaboration with the company’s chefs and dietitians. The curriculum, tested by 10 Alliance members, was proven to be effective in achieving positive behavior change among program participants.
What People Are Saying about the Curriculum
Marcknal, a 19-year-old student and Feed Your Potential 365 Club participant, reflected on his experience with the curriculum received through Alliance member Branches in Miami, “I cut out meat from my diet when I was a junior in high school. I wanted to eat healthier; however, I continued to eat a lot of processed food and candy. Through the Feed Your Potential 365 experiences, I am learning to make better choices and get the nutrition I need. When I leave for college, I will have to cook for myself and I am learning important skills!”
Kim Torres, director of student services at Branches echoed, “Promoting healthy living has been an incredible opportunity for our community. People are excited to learn practical things they can do to improve the health of their family. They are especially appreciative of the cultural awareness of the [resources].”
The full suite of health and wellness resources, curriculum, facilitator guides, videos and more, is available to all Alliance members for free through the Healthy For Life® online portal.
