This toolkit is designed for human services organizations that are navigating organizational transformation efforts. For these organizations, one of the most important and difficult aspects is adapting their cultures—reshaping the philosophy and values held by staff.

This toolkit aids in identifying staff’s thoughts and beliefs that must be relinquished, kept, and newly crafted so that the organization can be relevant in the very different future that is outlined in the transformation. It features numerous tools, each of which consists of 50 though and belief statements.

Use the tools among groups of staff, asking them to identify the statements that resonate and do not resonate. Through the group’s dialogue, leaders can detect areas of disagreement that can serve as opportunities to work through as well as areas of agreement that can serve as foundations to build upon.

These tools can also be used with families and youth to facilitate conversations about how they would like to partner the organization.
